Château Palais Cardinal

Château Palais Cardinal

Our vineyard is located in Saint-Sulpice de Faleyrens, south of the village of Saint-Emilion. We produce wines from Saint-Emilion Grand Cru appellation on 19 hectares and 40 acres. We are lucky to have a great terroir with alluvium and pure gravel naturally drained by a stream called La Fuie.

In 2008, Jean-Louis and Jackline Texier bought this 19th century estate and decided to renovate it. Thanks to their passion and their work, we are proud to propose quality wines elaborated with traditional methods.

Our wines are made from the typical grapes varieties of the Bordeaux region with 75% of Merlot (which brings an intense color, a good alcoholic level and a great flexibility), 20% of Cabernet Sauvignon (which gives spicy touches, structure, volume and complexity), and finally 5% of Cabernet Sauvignon (for aromatic finesse, a good tannic structure and a real potential for keeping and ageing).

We are proud to respect the traditional wine making method: ploughing, low yield, leaf removal by hand, harvesting by hand when grapes are ripe, selection of the better grapes by density and ageing in oak barrels.

With patience Château Palais Cardinal embelishes, acquires fine tannins and deep color, the merlot becomes more elegant, as fine as silk.

We think it is great to have something like this on hand in your cellar, an intense and long keeping wine to open for a celebration. We don’t know when we’ll drink it : a romantic dinner, a success, a celebration, a party or just a good meal ? Everything is possible because you have the bottle !
